1. Data controller

The data controller is the ownership of Villa Pomelia, a holiday home in Fontane Bianche (Syracuse, Italy), regional registration code 19089017C204124, national identification code IT089017C2W9CTNVHZ. For any request concerning personal data you can write to us through the booking form on this website or to info@villapomelia.com. No Data Protection Officer has been appointed, as the statutory conditions do not apply.

2. Data collected through this website

When you send a booking enquiry we collect the data you provide in the form: name, email address, optional phone number, arrival and departure dates, number of guests and your message. These data are processed solely to answer your enquiry and to manage a possible booking (Art. 6.1.b GDPR, pre-contractual measures) and are kept for the time strictly needed for that purpose, and afterwards for the legally required accounting terms where a booking is confirmed.

The hosting provider may record technical navigation logs (IP address, date and time of the request, page requested, browser type) for security and diagnostic purposes, based on the legitimate interest of the controller (Art. 6.1.f GDPR).

3. Retention

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for as long as needed to handle the contact and in any case no longer than 24 months. Where a booking is confirmed, contractual and accounting records are kept for 10 years as required by Italian law. Technical logs are kept only as long as necessary for security purposes.

3-bis. Cookies

Cookies and local storage are described in the cookie policy. Only strictly necessary technical tools are used, for which no consent is required.

4. Recipients and processors

Data may be processed by service providers acting as data processors: our hosting and database provider and the property management system used to keep the availability calendar in sync. If you book through Airbnb, that booking is governed by the privacy policy of Airbnb Ireland UC, for which the controller is not responsible. No data are transferred outside the EU/EEA without adequate safeguards.

5. Guest data

For guests staying at the property, identity document data are processed exclusively to comply with the legal obligation to notify the Italian police authority through the Alloggiati Web portal (Art. 109 T.U.L.P.S.) and for tax and tourist tax obligations. They are never used for marketing and never sold to third parties.

5-bis. Providing data and automated decisions

Providing the data marked in the form is necessary to answer your enquiry; without it we cannot reply. Providing the data requested at check-in is a legal obligation. No automated decision-making or profiling under Art. 22 GDPR takes place.

6. Your rights

You may at any time exercise the rights provided by Articles 15-22 of EU Regulation 2016/679: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it) or with your local supervisory authority. Requests can be sent to info@villapomelia.com and are answered within one month.

7. Legal notice

Villa Pomelia is a non-professionally managed holiday home in Fontane Bianche, Syracuse, Sicily, registered under CIR 19089017C204124 and CIN IT089017C2W9CTNVHZ. Prices, availability and descriptions on this website are indicative and are confirmed in writing at booking. Photographs show the actual property. Italian law applies to any dispute.
